Education Bursary offering local women the opportunity to achieve their education goals

TBWC BOQ Castletown Education Bursary

The Townsville Business Women’s Circle (TBWC) is Townsville’s only not-for-profit business women’s networking group.

The organisation provides:

  • experiences and opportunities for people to connect for professional and personal development
  • a forum for recognition of business women’s achievements
  • opportunities for professional development and mentoring for business women and girls
  • a platform and opportunities to empower and educate women and girls.

TBWC, in partnership with BOQ Castletown, have established an Education Bursary to advance and support educational opportunities for women in Townsville and the surrounding regions.

It will be available each year, allowing women to seek funding to start, or further, their education.

The TBWC BOQ Castletown Education Bursary is something David and I are incredibly proud of.  We love that the Bursary assists women to further develop their professional skills, but also in turn benefits our local community, is what we find truly rewarding!

– Lisa Leonardi (BOQ Castletown) naming rights sponsor of the TBWC BOQ Castletown Education Bursary

Funding from the TBWC BOQ Education Bursary can be used for books and other resources, English lessons, courses (eg Tafe), professional development and/or conferences, for example and is prioritised for those who would otherwise struggle to achieve their educational or professional development goals.

In the past two years almost $20,000 has been provided to recipients of the TBWC BOQ Education Bursary and used to improve the careers of these local women through education opportunities.
