‘Jamming with Jemma’ Early Childhood Music Workshops

Sydney based children’s performer, Jemma Armstrong, is bringing a fun and exciting musical experience to Magnetic Island on Saturday 18th May.

Best known for her role as the voice and puppeteer behind the character Hootabelle on ABC Kids program, ‘Giggle and Hoot’, Jemma hosts regular ‘Jamming with Jemma’ music workshops around Sydney.

And now kids of the Townsville region have the chance to check it out for themselves!

Jamming with Jemma

Jamming with Jemma is a heartwarming music and movement workshops for babies to 4-year-olds, and is coming to Magnetic Island as part of the 40 Hour Jammin music festival.

​There will be singing, dancing, storytelling, and jamming as a group with percussion instruments to live music.

As this is as much for the families as it is for the children, parents are encouraged to join in with their little ones for a shared bonding experience in a safe and joyfully creative environment.

​Older siblings are welcome- please advise if they intend to join in as spots are limited.

About The 40 Hour Jammin

The only festival of it’s type in Australia, created by Artistic Director Shenzo Gregorio and now fully embraced by the Magnetic Island Community, the 40 hour Jammin will bring an experience to North Queensland unlike any festival experience in Australia.

For over 40 plus hours the Island will resonate with a vast selection of music from musicians based within the region and from around Australia. Venues will range from restaurants to outdoor stages, jetty’s, beaches, night clubs and cafes.

​The experience will be up close and moving!

A mixture of ticketed and free events will mean anyone can attend and you are sure to find an event or events that will have you tapping your foot and humming along in no time!

Magnetic Island offers a range of accommodation options from camping to 5 star hotels to backpacker bungalows or holiday rentals.

The 40 Hour Jammin is a not-for-profit music event raising money for worthwhile causes

As a not-for-profit music event, The 40 Hour Jammin relies heavily on a number of funding sources, one of which will be the general public.

By attending the event and supporting the businesses you’ll be contributing to the overall budget for the 40 Hour Jammin. In conjunction with this approach the event will also be fundraising for the Motor Neurone Disease and Me foundation where the goal is to raise $40,000. The tally currently sits at $28 000.
