The C Words

The C Words

So my two favourite C words in this world at the moment are Coffee and Cocktails and that is not an exaggeration. I love coffee because it helps me be a normal human after being woken up 3 times during the night by a crying baby and the cocktails….well they bring my friends together so we can catch up and just be ourselves.

There are 2, yes 2, new places in Townsville – one that feeds my coffee addiction and the other gives me the opportunity to try something new each time I go there.

Firstly, my favorite place for the elixir of life at the moment is the new Good Morning Coffee Trader on Ingham road. If you go down to the airport turn off, there it is just waiting to be discovered.

The most amazing aspect of this place is the drive through. This has been a lifesaver for me as I can just pull in, order, drive around and grab my coffee all the while never getting out of my car or unbuckling my child.

The coffee is fantastic; the staff are extremely friendly who always have a smile on their face. The most amazing aspect of this place is that it is open at 4:30am during the week. BRILLIANT!

Another brilliant establishment that has opened up on Flinders street is a place called Hooch and Fellow. If you are out and about in the ‘ville at night and would like some of the best cocktails around town then you really need to go here.

From the very moment you walk in the door you are greeted by a waiter and are shown a table, given water, nibbles and sometime to peruse the impressive menu. There is an ever changing menu of cocktails, shots and specialty drinks that you can choose from on the night, but if none take your fancy, then the bartender will come and have a chat with you and design you a cocktail that will rock your world.

I honestly love going to this place on my nights out just to enjoy the atmosphere, quality spirits and the comfy couches.

I  love that Townsville is always changing and that there is always something/somewhere new to visit, experience and enjoy and if anyone knows of any other new businesses around Townsville that you would like me to review please let me know in the comments.

Nicole has lived in Townsville for 8 years and married her husband last year.  Currently on maternity leave from her high school teaching position, Nicole is enjoying the new challenges of becoming a mum after welcoming a beautiful baby girl in September 2015.
